When Nazi Germany invaded France and confiscated all industrial plants, the Caudron-Renault factory fell into the hands of Heinkel. Some existing types were taken over by the German firm and evaluated by the Luftwaffe, such as this Cr 205, a derivative of the Caudron C.450 with a Heinkel cockpit, armor and armament.

The Golfstrom was yet another adaptation of the Caudron C.450 racer (see below right). Another work inspired by the C.450 is the Caudron C.1160.
