Weird Lightnings!

If any of you guys and gals who happened on this site think I'm crazy, well... you ought to meet Tophe, the man with the twin-boom asymmetric fetish!

Tophe has roamed various aviation forums for years and delighted many of us with his seemingly endless variations on the P-38 Lightning and P-51 themes, as well as his impressive knowledge of twin-boom aircraft history... He even did books on these subjects, one being Forked Ghosts (a reference on the subject of twin-boomers, which can be downloaded free online) and the other Mustangs Virtuels, an impressive volume packed with drawings of his own. And to prove that he is not THAT much of a nut, he managed to obtain respected aviation author Herbert Léonard (one of the world's handful of authorities on pre-jet age Soviet aviation) to write a preface.

There are two things that Tophe is known NOT to like: symmetry and war (which doesn't keep him from loving many combat aircraft, but only from a designer's viewpoint — and in this respect I'm pretty much like him).

Make sure people to check out Tophe's work online!

Tophe, as a tribute to your whiffing madness, I'm posting here the the two derivative of my Lockheed 2022 Quad-Lightning especially for his pleasure on the What If? forum: the Model 2122 Sudden Lightning and the Model 2222 Tough Lightning! (or Tophe Lightning if you will...)

And for more asymmetry on this site, check the Northrop P-1260 Hyena on the P-1200 Hydra's page!
