Nakajima twin-boom fighterSome plans of three unknown Nakajima projects have recently surfaced, thanks to Secret Projects Forum member blackkite from Japan. Unfortunately, he explained that the owner of these plans "will not show [them to] a publishing company by any means", stating that they are a "useless possession." As a result, we only had a glimpse of these documents in the form of photographs showing the plans in slanted, distorted form (see below right). As the twin-boom pusher design was particularly interesting and seemed easier to tackle than the other two, I elected to do own reinterpretation of it. The top view was easier, but the profile view was a lot more difficult to do, given the extreme warp of the image. Working on the third and final part of the three-view arrangement, namely the front view, I realized I'd made MANY mistakes, so I had to rework the thing entirely: Nose shape and size were wrong, tail elevation and boom inclination too, and many little things here and there. I especially reworked the front view, as there was a wealth of details I had missed out, especially the fins, horizontal tail and top of the booms! The general arrangement presented here is the final and hopefully the most accurate one. Of course there is no guarantee that the proportions are 100% correct, but I hope it's a step in the right direction. Any remarks/suggestions/criticism are most welcome. Unfortunately if there are more changes to be done in the future, I'm afraid I'll have to redo the whole plan completely... I made a beginner's mistake, saving a modified GIF instead of using the "Save as..." function before exit, therefore I lost ALL my layers!!! |

My comments: Thanks blackkite! Hope I didn't make too many mistakes... I love to add some "local" touch! |
