Douglas XB-22

This particular project was a request from lark, who wanted to see a profile view of a type he had never seen depicted ever before, the Douglas XB-22 bomber.

Although in this particular case I didn't start from scratch but actually reworked an existing color profile, I have chosent to include it here all the same because every line on it has been redrawn over by me.

The XB-22 was a proposed Douglas B-18 Bolo airframe with 1600 hp Wright R-2600-2 Cyclone engines instead of the 930 hp R-1820-45 version. The project, however, was dropped in favor of newer models and the designation was cancelled.

I need to make one remark: my image depicts an aircraft with the improved nose of the B-18A, not that of the B-18 on which the B-22 proposal had been based. However, one can consider that, if produced, by the time the B-22 would have been built it would also have undergone that modification.
