Elaboration:

What if the age of the flying boat had not been over? What if the clippers had survived well into the 1950? Well, here is a flying boat alternative to the Vickers Viscount, the first of a series of similar types I intend to create...

  • Very nice indeed.  I've always had a soft spot for floaty types. (Maverick)
  • I always loved flying boats, that and zeppelins, I know they aren't always the safest or most practical forms of civilian transport, but I can only imagine the joy and spectacle of sailing aboard them. (ONI-Defense)
  • Pleasant shape Thumbs Up , while... is there enough clearance between propeller blades and water? Wouldn't a gull wing be required when the hull has little height like this? (Tophe)

My comments:

I believe you're absolutely right about this, Tophe! Even by placing the wing in a high position, the distance between the propellers and the water would still be insufficient I guess... I was not quite satisfied with the way this one came out, anyway. There is still something wrong about the wing's and the engines' inclination. The whole thing seems a bit warped. Ah well... Maybe one day I'll rework it...
