Synopsis:
When the British discovered an unpiloted Heinkel Salamander derivative, the He 562, and seized documents and engineering material from Heinkel's factory, they reverse engineered it and had Saunders-Roe build a batch of 100 for the RAF as the Lizard I. These jet-powered targets (the very first in Britain) provided considerably valuable information about jet-powered combat that was put to good use by British manufacturers.
