Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin

Model: unknown

Name: StarViper

Type: Jet attack

Date: 1994

Status: Demonstrator

Country: United States of America

Service: U.S. Air Force

Designation: YA-25A, A-25B

Synopsis:

The Lockheed StarViper demonstrator was the missing link between the famed F-16 and the F-22 Raptor. A test batch of three aircraft designated YA-25A was built, followed by 30 production A-25As, as well as 25 examples of the tandem-seat A-25B trainer version.

The photo shows the first A-25B, while the three-view arrangement and the color profile for the single-seat A-25A version can be seen below right.

Elaboration:

The StarViper is a rare case when I did not just do one image, but actually three: the photo of course, but also the color profile and the three-view arrangement. (both by reusing existing artwork and reworking it).

My comments:

Gosh, a twin-tailed F-5! I think I saw it before but never realized it was for real! No wonder the Americans are pissed off by the Iranians... LOL! Thanks for the link.
