 First
planned production version of the VZ-8P had rudder and accomodation for three,
as seen in these artist's concepts.

PIASECKI 59 'Sky Car'
Status: mock-up proposal for "aerial jeep" Army
competition
Powerplant: unknown
Date of proposal: 1957
The Model 59 'Sky Car' was competing for
the U.S. Army's "flying jeep" against the Chrysler and Curtiss-Wright proposals.
The 'Sky Car' was presented to the U.S. Army in the form of a full-scale mock-up,
complete with mannequins dressed as soldiers. This depicted a possible production
version
of what was soon to become the VZ-8P
'AirGeep',
a production version which unfortunately never materialized. Fitted with a
rudder and a windscreen for the pilot, this
operational development was also supposed to offer seating for two soldiers.
The artist's concepts here on the left come from two different plastic model
versions, which faithfully reproduced Piasecki's original full-scale mock-up.
Population:
Specs (projected): unknown
Crew/passengers: 3 (including one pilot)
